Quillmoth
Quillmoth turns recordings and meetings into transcripts, summaries and action items, all on your Mac. Every point is checked against the transcript, and nothing is uploaded, ever.
Screen recording of Quillmoth's Summary tab: key points, decisions and action items each have a green check and a Source link; clicking a Source jumps to the transcript line that backs it. Demo data.
From recording to notes in three steps.
Any audio or video
Record from your microphone, record a whole meeting, or drop in a file: voice memos, calls, interviews, lectures, video. Transcription runs on your Mac.

A timestamped transcript plays along with the audio. Search across everything you have ever transcribed. Hide the “um”s with one click.
Checked against what was said
Get key points, decisions and action items with owners and deadlines, or just ask a question. Anything the transcript does not support is flagged and left out.
Get answers, with receipts.
Answers come only from what was said. If it wasn't said, you're told.
Quillmoth's Ask tab: a question is answered with sources, and a question the recording can't answer says so. Demo data.

Quiet, careful and yours.
Private by design
No account. No cloud. No analytics in the app. Your audio and transcripts stay in a folder on your Mac.
Honest summaries
Summaries and answers are written by an AI model that runs on your Mac, then checked by plain code against the transcript: names, numbers, owners and deadlines must actually appear in it.
Whole meetings, no bot
Record Meeting captures your microphone and the audio your Mac is playing, so it works with Zoom, Teams, Meet, FaceTime or anything else, with no bot joining the call.
Search everything
Find the moment a contract came up, a number was said or a name was mentioned, across every transcript.

Good to know
- Mac with Apple silicon running macOS 26 or later
- The first summary downloads a language model once (about 2 to 4 GB, depending on your Mac). After that it works offline.
- Summaries work best with 16 GB of memory or more, and run in 8 GB too
- Not yet: speaker labels. They are on the roadmap.
Can it record my Zoom or Teams calls?
Yes. Choose Record Meeting and Quillmoth records your microphone and whatever your Mac is playing, so it works with any app, and nobody has to install anything or add a bot to the call. macOS asks once for System Audio Recording permission. Please tell everyone on the call that you are recording, and follow any laws or workplace rules that apply.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After the first summary downloads its model, everything works without a connection. Transcription needs no download beyond macOS's own speech assets.
How accurate is it?
Transcription uses Apple's on-device speech recognition. On clear speech it is very good; on noisy meetings with overlapping voices it makes mistakes, as every tool does. Summaries are checked against the transcript, but the transcript itself can contain recognition errors, so double-check important numbers (every point links to the audio).
Which languages?
Quillmoth transcribes in the languages macOS speech recognition supports on-device, including English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese and Chinese. Summaries are most reliable in English today.
Can it tell who is speaking?
Not yet. Speaker labels are on the roadmap. Until then, Quillmoth only assigns an action item to a person when their name appears next to the task in the transcript.
Is my audio private?
Yes. Transcription and summaries run entirely on your Mac. The app has no accounts, no tracking and no ads, and collects no data. The only network use is the one-time model download.
